Aotomori was born from a quiet conviction: "Good footwear shouldn't, literally, cost the earth." We design every pair with the intention that it be made with respect, worn with confidence, and eventually return to the natural cycle from which it came.

Renewable and naturally derived

Materials chosen with the Earth in mind — recycled rubber and natural fiber straps.

These shoes are designed and made to be worn for many years, with repairs, instead of being replaced every season.

The processing of recycled rubber significantly reduces water usage compared to conventional synthetic materials.

Plastic-free packaging

All orders are delivered in recycled paper and cardboard. We do not use any single-use plastics.

Connecting Thailand and Japan

Aotomori began with a single question shared by Japanese and overseas partners: "How can we bring truly well-made, fashionable footwear to the Japanese market?" This led them to Moochuu, a sandal manufacturer from Thailand. Their craftsmanship and dedication to materials were exactly what we wanted to support.

By working directly with workshops in Thailand, we shorten shipping distances and reduce the number of intermediaries compared to fast fashion brands. This creates a direct and responsible connection between the makers and the customers who wear their products.
