AOTOMORI sandals use over 90% recycled rubber in the sole.
Materials that would otherwise be discarded are repurposed and given new life as everyday items.
What is Recycled Rubber?
AOTOMORI uses recycled rubber, which is reprocessed from scraps of rubber products generated in Thailand.
It is crushed and reshaped, transforming it into a new sole.
We wanted to utilize existing resources again, rather than relying solely on new materials.
About the Comfort
The term "recycled material" can sometimes conjure an image of something "hard" or "heavy."
However, the unique softness and elasticity of natural rubber are fully preserved.
It features a slight cushioning with every step, reducing strain even after long hours of wear.
They can be worn comfortably for daily use, as well as for travel and long journeys.
From Waste Material to a Pair of Sandals
AOTOMORI soles are made through the following process:

Collecting scrap rubber materials from within Thailand

Understanding the background of the materials is also one of the things we value.
Difference from Conventional Sandals
Conventional sandals often use synthetic materials derived from petroleum.
Of course, each has its advantages.
Among these, AOTOMORI emphasized "being usable for as long as possible" and "making use of existing materials."
It's not a perfect material.
Nevertheless, we want to make choices that we can be satisfied with at the present time.
